The replica of the Space Shuttle Explorer that never flew in space, left Cape Canaveral and was taken last Thursday, May 24 the VAB (where it has been refreshed) on barges from the Banana River to the port of Cape Canaveral. The spacecraft replica took the boat to move through the Gulf of Mexico in Houston, Texas. There it will be stored in the museum's of NASA Johnson Space Center to the delight of visitors who will finally see a shuttle of their own.
Know that the JSC was interested to acquire the real shuttle (Atlantis) last July when that big shuttle came back to itslast mission in space. But Houston had a problem. NASA's corner has indeed been unable to obtain the really shuttle, but a good replica rebuilds, so Explorer. It's something ofwon. Atlantis remains in Cape Canaveral to replace Explorer. Ah, Americans are really complex(ed) !
